Digital Drawing
This project was a workshop in the Pen Tool and Live Paint workflows. I chose this super cute diner scene. I was instantly drawn to this photo because of the wall pattern and the Pop-Art photos of extremely important people throughout time. I love how different the colors are which made me excited to start the painting process and I thought it would be perfect because they are so easily distinguishable. What I failed to think about was the amount on detail in every single part of this photo. There was not one section of the picture that didn't take at least two to three hours to outline. In all, I spent about 35 hours on this project. While it would have been less time consuming to do something simpler, I am extremely proud of the outcome of this project. This drawing has kept me VERY busy during our COVID-19 quarantine. I used just the Pen Tool for this one. I had the stroke set to .25pt the whole time because of the amount of detail in the photo. I did elect to leave some details out because they would be nearly indistinguishable once I got painting. I also wanted to focus on the wall pattern and the people's faces. The Live Paint process was a BREEZE compared to the outlining process. I loved getting to see everything come together and not look so crazy. Overall, I loved the process of this project and how it turned out. I am proud of myself for sticking with it even once I realized how much work it would be. I did have quite a lot of extra time on my hands.
